Dear Participant,

The Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB) that administers the standards for Guarantees of Origin (GO) issuing between EU jurisdictions have decided to lift the suspension of GO exports from the Icelandic registry from 2 Jun 2023. The AIB Board sense that progress has been made by Landsnet (the issuing body in Iceland) in fulfilling the rectification order issued by AIB in April (See press release 27 April).  However, as the situation is not fully resolved, the decision to lift the suspension is conditional on Landsnet providing AIB with a report on the issues identified and remedial actions taken by 1st Oct 2023. AIB will review the report and may choose to reinstate the suspension if the issues identified are not sufficiently resolved.

SEMO will keep tracking and inform members of any developments. For now, SEMO aligns with the AIB decision and will accept Icelandic GOs from 2 June 2023.

AIB have published a press release which can be found in the link below; AIB Press release 1 June 2023

Kind regards,
