Dear Market Participant,

EirGrid, SONI and SEMO are currently progressing work on the Scheduling & Dispatch Programme. This was outlined in the Shaping Our Electricity Future Roadmap under Markets Pillar 1 - Electricity markets and power system operational alignment.

The Roadmap noted a plan to develop the detailed design on dispatch and scheduling changes to include:

· SDP_001 NPDR Treatment of non-priority dispatch renewable generation;

· SDP_002 ESPS: Updates to the scheduling and dispatch of batteries;

· SDP_003 FFR: Fast frequency response capability in scheduling process;

· SDP_004 WDT: Enhancements to the dispatch of wind;

· SDP_005 RESERVES: Dispatch and scheduling of reserve services from new providers, and

· SDP_006 SYNC COND: Scheduling of Synchronous Condensers;

Over the previous months, the project team has engaged with industry representatives bilaterally and hosted an Industry Workshop on 16th of November 2022.

We are continuing the Industry Workshops where we will provide an updated status of the programme and discuss the functional, regulatory, and technical aspects of the programme delivery. The next workshop will be conducted on Wednesday, 06th September 2023, onsite in the Herbert Park Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 and via MS Teams. The meeting will start at 1:00pm and end at 4:00pm.
