Dear Market Participant,
At present, the all-island ramp rate is limited to 10
MW/min, which is divided equally between Moyle and EWIC. The TSOs have been
carrying out a ramp rate increase trial since 6th of March where the
all-island ramp rate was increased to 15 MW/min. In phase 1 of the trial, EWIC
ramp rate was increased to 10 MW/min while Moyle remained at 5 MW/min for a
period of 10 weeks. In phase 2, which started on Wednesday 15th of
May, Moyle ramp rate was increased to 10 MW/min while EWIC was returned to 5
MW/min. Phase 2 (and ultimately the trial) is coming to an end at 23:00 on 28th
of May, where Moyle will return to normal ramp rate of 5 MW/min.
