Dear Market Participant,
As advised on the morning Participant call on 1st May, please see an update below on the items discussed.
SW Constraint:
The new TCG called SW_NB is now called upon by the control centres in situations of low wind in the South West (Cork/Kerry) region. This can be used instead of a UOM.
It is required to maintain transmission system voltages within acceptable limits as per the Grid Code and Operational Security Standards (OSS).
The impact of this is that RTD will see any such unit being on at minimum output due to a TCG and it should SO flag it.
This may have positive impacts on imbalance price and settlement.
The details are below:
Units in TCG: TB3, TB4 and MP2
Number of units: Minimum of 1
Start/End Time: Selected by user –both normally set in the past unless TCG is required
This TCG is currently referenced in the weekly constraints but not the monthly constraints due to the temporary nature of the TCG.
Ireland |
At times of very low wind generation output in the south-west a large Tarbert unit (TB3 or TB4) or Moneypoint 2 (MP2) may be required. |
Voltage Support: To support South West during the forced outage of the 400/220kV transformer in the new Moneypoint transmission station. |
MPI Connectivity Issues:
We continue to await the root cause analysis for all MPI connectivity issues that have occurred over the past week. As soon as the analysis has been provided to us we will advise participants.
ECC SMSS Report Changes:
We can confirm that we have not been made aware of any changes to the ECC reporting formats. We have queries this change with ECC and they have advised that they will follow up with us tomorrow (Thursday) when all staff return to office, following their public holiday today.
Kind regards,
Julie McGee
